We have made these investments in our systems because we believe they are essential if we are to serve our clients in the changing healthcare environment. Our company has made a significant commitment to automated data processing systems. We believe that the effective management of information necessitates the employment of a sophisticated and secure information system, and a secure communications network. To achieve that end, we have made considerable investments in both hardware and software.
All desktops use Windows 2000 pro and users must authenticate to the domain for access. We have a sophisticated security network incorporating state of the art equipment from Cisco and Dell. We control access by user login, and grant permissions only to those accounts permitted for the individual. Firewalls are used in conjunction with access control lists to provide the most secure environment possible. All VPN connections use IPSec with 3DES. Our Email system uses SSL to protect all incoming and outgoing mail to our server. We can also provide PGP encryption to protect patient information and important financial documents sent to our clients.
We develop and maintain our software in house, which allows us to make the changes necessary to meet the needs of our clients as they arise. Our system tracks and monitors your accounts in a continuous flow. The history of each account is part of the complete package and remains integral to its handling. Our clients remain informed of the status of their accounts throughout the recovery process.
All PATHS servers are centrally located in a secure hosted environment. The secure hosted environment provides Guaranteed 100% Power uptime with Battery Backup and Diesel Generator. In addition to the hosting facility power backup, PATHS also has a dedicated APC Backup in our secured rack. All servers have Redundant Hot-Swap power supplies, and Hot-Swap drives. Hardware RAID-1 permits Hot-Swap hard disks, which allow us to provide reliable operations 365 days a year. Each Server is backed up nightly. A full Backup is performed on Sat night with incremental backups each night after. Backups are overwritten every 8 Weeks with 1 full system backup retained from each month. Tapes are stored in a secure off site location.
The Main Eligibility application runs on a Windows 2000 Server. The Server is patched weekly to keep it up to date with security issues. The Application can be access over the Internet by using Terminal Services RDP, which supports 128-bit encryption. The Cipher used is RC4.
The Main Billing system runs on a Redhat Server, which is updated weekly. The database is built on Informix. The access to this system is provided through Terminal Services session on the Windows 2000 Server.
Our MIS department holds IT certifications including Cisco CCNP, Microsoft MCP, CompTIA A+, and CompTIA NET+.
